TEREX UNIVERSITY MOBILE TRAINING UNIT LAUNCHED WITH SESSIONS AT TOYOTA
In March, 2015, Terex University Mobile Training Unit held its first session at Toyota's facility in Porto Feliz, São Paulo State. The training addressed operation techniques for overhead cranes, as per Normative Rule # 11, as a result of a Demag equipment the company has recently purchased.
During the simulation, eight professionals were simultaneously trained. The mobile facility allows for up to fifteen participants, though. "With the overhead cranes simulator we can perform training on how to operate the equipment and, in addition, we may take other Demag equipment for maintenance training in the van", explained Fábio Camargo, Technical Coach of Terex Material Handling.
This training session was relevant for Toyota, since the company could not make their own bridge crane available for training for a long time. Therefore, the bridge crane simulator in our van was useful for operators as it helped them to be better prepared to work with the actual equipment in the factory.
"Our focus is to provide professional refreshers and qualification training for our clients and partners' team members who are not familiar with the operation of bridge cranes, thus providing them with a first contact through the simulator - which increases safety levels", as explained Camargo.
