TEREX LATIN AMERICA TO PARTICIPATE IN THE M&T EXPO

With several new releases, Terex reaffirms its pioneering position in lifting and material handling solutions.

Terex Latin America (TLA) features important innovations for the lifting and material handling segments during the M&T EXPO. With investments in new facilities and products, Terex firmly believes that boosting up the industry with innovative products and services shall yield positive outcomes for both the company and their customers.

In 2015, Terex celebrates 55 years of presence in Brazil, and it has planned for a special participation in this edition of the M&T EXPO. Terex shall introduce new releases and novelties across all its portfolio, as follows:

Terex Utilities
For the Utilities Business Unit, the emphasis will be the new SKYCITY, aerial unit, which is100% Brazilian designed and produced to meet the needs of the big cities. The SKYCITY aerial features low fuel consumption and is virtually silent, which makes it ideal for live lines and telecommunication lines maintenance in large urban centers.


Terex Material Handling (MH)
In the MH segment, the novelty is the V-type crane. Released at the end of 2014, this Demag overhead crane introduces a revolutionary concept into the category. The product weighs 17% less, on average, as compared to similar box-profile girders. The new Demag V-type crane gives architects greater freedom for planning new factory buildings, and is suitable for companies that want to employ it in existing assembly and production bays.

Its innovative design also cuts down the oscillation of the bridge crane's girder by up to 30%,which allows you to position heavy and sensitive loads, such as glass panels, fluids or aluminum shell sections for aircrafts in a more precise and quick manner. Additionally, it may reach over 500,000 operating cycles which can double its usable life.


Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP)

The aerial work platforms leader in Brazil, Terex, will exhibit the Genie SX-180 boom lift. The largest AWP from Terex, and one of the largest AWPs in the world. With self-propelled telescopic booms, the product reaches up to 56 m in height, and takes two professionals on the work platform. Regardless of its high reach, it is very stable and compact for transportation because of its XChassis TM design, whose axles can be fully stowed for transport on a regular truck.
The platform also provides a 360º continuous rotating movement, without interrupting the work. In addition, it has joystick commands with fully proportional hall effects.

Terex Cranes
The Explorer 5800 all terrain crane will be shown for the first time in Brazil. Because of its compact design, while maintaining lifting capability and reach, the Explorer 5800 ATC stands out for its versatility and accessibility for a broad variety of work, thus offering cost-effectiveness in transportation and set-up. The Explorer 5800 crane can lift up to 220 t and reach over 100 m high.

RT Cranes operations' simulator
During the event, TLA will feature the RT cranes' simulator - designed by experts from a variety of areas for the Brazilian market. "With this equipment, we can now improve even further our training, and, as a result, achieve an excellent level of education of cranes' operators, which will certainly promote safer operations," explained Ricardo Beilke, Services Manager at TLA. Simulift, the Terex simulator's name, will be available for training at Terex facilities in Cotia and in Betim, as well as with the itinerant truck across Brazil.


Customer Support highlights
The Minha Terex Program was launched in 2014, aiming to achieve top-notch customer servicing, and become a benchmark within the market where it operates:

"We have been heavily investing in our services area, as well as introduced product-related novelties on a yearly basis. The Minha Terex program has been in operation for one year, and it is already yielding good results: with more satisfied customers due to servicing time reduction and effectiveness, for example 92% of the incoming calls at our Call Center are resolved upon the first contact", says François Jourdan, President of Terex Latin America. For him, this program ensures that customers across Latin America are provided with the same global excellency of the company, which is a major differential. The Minha Terex program includes Customer Service, Warranty, Technical Support, Parts, Training, and the Experts Team to provide quick replies for the demands and resolution of clients' problems.

Providing top-notch services is one of the priorities of Terex. By using the Minha Terex program, clients may count on a Van - the Mobile Services Unit of the program. This unit performs real-time failure diagnosis in advance for new or used equipment (already in place), aiming to effectively anticipate potential problems and reduce resolution time.

In addition, in 2015 Terex launched the Mobile Training Unit of the Terex University, which hosted a training at an automaker's facility about Normative Rule n. 11 that regulates bridge cranes' operations. The mobile unit can host in-house training and speeches about all our business units' equipment at clients' premises.

Since 2014, Terex Latin America has been offering the Terex University training center in Cotia, the Call Center (toll-free: 0800 031 0100), the showroom, and the Minha Terex Operational Control Center to remotely monitor the services provided to clients all over Brazil.

Added to all that, the bridge cranes' simulator, the TFS (Terex Financial Services) kiosk, and a space dedicated to port solutions will make Terex Latin America's booth space one of the most interesting in the event.

 

TEREX PORT SOLUTIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN 21ST INTERMODAL SOUTH AMERICA

At Intermodal South America 2015, Terex Port Solutions (TPS) will exhibit its full portfolio of cargo handling equipment - manual, semi-automated and automated - for applications across ports and terminals, from 7 to 9 April at Transamérica Expo Center, booth B-75. This comprehensive product range offers the potential to bring added value to new and existing customers, not only in Brazil but throughout Latin America. According to João Pensa, Senior Sales Manager for TPS in South America, "Our goal is to establish TPS with its renowned Terex® and Terex® Gottwald brands as a provider of holistic solutions." He explains, "We are eager to expand in Latin America by offering more ports and terminals more of our solutions to move cargo efficiently."

Together with the local and international team from TPS, Pensa intends to improve customer satisfaction by streamlining relationships with customers. By improving planning and communication between Terex Latin America and the five TPS manufacturing facilities in Europe and China, he will be able to offer customers more application solutions and opportunities to improve their business.

Pensa sees exhibiting at Intermodal - the main event for logistics, cargo transportation and foreign trade in South America - as an opportunity to engage with customers. "This is the third time in a row we are going to participate in this major exhibition as Terex Port Solutions, a Terex business group founded back in 2012. As in previous years, TPS will be exhibiting together with its dedicated and renowned distributors: Equiport and Terminal Full Dealer (TFD). With their individual skills and their wealth of experience gained in 20 years of working with Terex, they support TPS in serving customers across Brazil," Pensa says.

 

Latin America requires holistic solutions for ports and terminals
Not only Brazil, but the whole of Latin America is demanding solutions for ports and terminals of all types, shapes and sizes to help customers improve their operations in terms of cost and productivity, while meeting ever growing environmental demands. "The market also requires solutions for global services across the entire life cycle of the products, including software," says Pensa, "That is precisely what we will be showing to customers visiting our booth at the exhibition."

With a broad array of products and solutions for all applications across the port industry, TPS is in the fast lane to growth in Latin America. The company has recently reached the milestone of 500 reach stackers sold in Brazil. It has also sold 12 electric rubber-tyred gantry cranes (E-RTG) to Libra Terminals. These cranes use electricity from the port's own power supply without generating any exhaust emissions. TPS has also supplied heavy equipment for continuous-duty professional bulk handling to both Fospar and Yara.

TEREX LATIN AMERICA TO ATTEND RIO OIL & GAS SHOW

Rio de Janeiro, September 15, 2014. - Showcasing its Terex, Genie and Demag brands, Terex Latin America (TLA) will participate in the Rio Oil & Gas tradeshow, the main event in the oil and gas industry of Latin America, to be held at the Rio Centro Conventions Center, in Rio de Janeiro.

Since it was first held, in 1982, the exhibition and conference has been cooperating to establish Rio de Janeiro as the "oil capital city", since the State accounts for 80% of all the oil produced in the country and 50% of the gas production.

People who make it happen
Besides its products lines, Terex will present its message about "People who make it happen", which communicates the company's strength across Latin America, - with two plants operating in Brazil, 1,200 team members, seven branches, six business units, two training centers, a parts distribution center, and 24x7 customer assistance.

Material Handling

Demag® KBK Aluline and DC-Bas Hoist

KBK Aluline and the DC-Bas Chain Hoist will be the main Demag® equipment shown at the exhibit. KBK Aluline is a light bridge crane system that is part of the Demag KBK crane construction kit and was developed to move loads conveniently and with little effort. It is the right solution wherever a track and crane system has to deliver high performance at a minimum weight. It is a comprehensive system that can be easily integrated and extended to provide versatile solutions, including configurations that can reach previously inaccessible locations. It offers very smooth operation thanks to tightly integrated system components and can conveniently handle loads weighing up to 2,200 lbs (1,000 KG).

The Demag® DC-Bas Hoist, which can be used with the KBK Aluline system or with other light bridge cranes, takes into account the needs of developing markets worldwide. This reliable product provides performance and quality, besides being extremely durable, even when used in hostile environments. The equipment is available in four different sizes. With lift capacity ranging from 125 kg to 2.000 kg, they can be used with the modular KBK system or with type I laminate profile monorails. The product has an anti-fall system integrated to the trolley, in compliance with all local rules (NR 12) and with safety as a key prority.

Aerial Work Platforms
Genie® SX180, the highest self-propelled AWP in Latin America.

During the Rio Oil & Gas show, Genie will introduce its new SX-180 boom lift which has been designed for today's highest access applications. Its maximum working height of 56.85 m (186 ft) - the equivalent of nearly 20 floors - and maximum horizontal reach of 24.4 m (80 ft), enable the SX-180 boom lift to deliver a large working envelope to handle an impressively broad range of tasks currently inaccessible by other access equipment.

The Genie® SX-180 boom lift combines proportional boom controls, a platform rotation of 160° and 360° continuous turntable rotation for precise access at extreme heights. It also includes a 3.05m (10 ft) rotating jib to place workers and their gear exactly where they are needed. The SX-180 easily accommodates two professionals with its 2.44 m (8 ft) by 0.91 m (3 ft) work platform that provides a capacity of up to 340 kg (750 lb). The SX-180 features the innovative Genie XchassisTM system, with axles that extend for stability and retract to enable transport on a standard trailer.

TEREX TO ANNOUNCE "MY TEREX" PROGRAM IN THE M&T PARTS AND SERVICES EXHIBITION FOR LATIN AMERICA

Terex Latin America will officially launch the program during the 2nd Exhibition and Congress of Construction and Mining Technology and Equipment Management, in São Paulo - June 3rd through June 6th.


São Paulo, Brazil - May 2014 - Terex Latin America, manufacturer and distributor of Genie®, Demag®, Powerscreen® and Terex® equipment will be launching the "My Terex" program during the 2nd edition of the 2014 M&T Parts and Services - Exhibition and Congress of Construction and Mining Technology and Equipment Management, to be held in São Paulo. The program will reinforce the company's presence and support for clients, especially in post-sales. Clients will then have access to a direct customer support focused on parts, services, warranty and training on a 24 x 7 basis.

"We want to emphasize the importance of the program creation, which reinforces the superiority of our operations in Brazil and Latin America. The goal is to point out the various parts of the program, which goes through Customer Services, Warranty, Technical Support, Parts, Training, and a team of experts to promptly reply to demands and solve our customers' problems with the Direct Communication channel", explains Eng. Alexandre Flatschart, Post-Sales and CS Senior Manager for Terex LA.

He points out that Terex reports in various business units: Aerial Work Platforms, Cranes, Material Handling, Material Processing, Port Solutions and Utilities. In the occasion, Terex will be presenting the entire servicing processes through My Terex program, as well as it will introduce the mobile servicing model with a properly equipped van. With it, they will run previous diagnosis of customers new and already installed equipment failure, aiming to anticipate potential problems and to cut down resolution time effectively. We believe this program will answer the important customer need for uptime and create an advantage for Terex in the marketplace.

In the past few months, Demag training and services areas developed an operations simulator for Bridge Cranes, to be shown during the event. Using the simulator, visitors will be able to interact and try handling the equipment. "That is a market differential in the training area, both for operations and for maintenance of the equipment", says Flatschart.

The approach strategy also includes presenting Terex LA post-sales services station, to be exhibited then. "Visitors will be able to watch the operational system in action from the moment we answer a call, properly forward it, make internal controls to its final closure upon problem resolution", he explained. With advanced technology, Terex provides a specific software for customer services, which can be activated over a Smart Phone or Tablet. "We rely on innovation to best service our customers. We join technology to our technicians' expertise for post-sales servicing. We count on interaction tools and provide amazing high quality services. Our objective is to solve the problem upon the first call. If that is not possible, we forward that call via Smart Phone or landline over to the region's field services representative. This team member will undertake it from there, which can range from providing information on a more complex issue to in-person assistance. Through My Terex, we can control the entire process", adds Flatschart.
During the presentation of My Terex Program, we will show a video on the daily routine of a Terex LA post-sales technician, from the moment the call is answered to the visit at the client's application. "That is a real shooting, thus showing how we work, while proving the transparency in our relations with clients. This is a new tool we want to introduce in the market".

Furthermore, Flatschart added that participating in the 2nd edition of the M&T Parts and Services (2014) - Exhibition and Congress of Construction and Mining Technology and Equipment Management - with this new launch is extremely important for Terex LA post-sales. "It is our desire to have clients interacting with the company. This is an opportunity for relationships and for leveraging products across Services and Parts Sales areas. Our post-sales teams from all Terex business segments will be ready to host our visitors and to propose the best business solutions", concludes Flatschart.

TREX, A TEREX DISTRIBUTOR, TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2014 EXPOMIN, IN CHILE.

Santiago, Chile, April 21st, 2014. - Terex Latin America is going to participate in the 2014 EXPOMIN, to be held from April 21st through 25th, in Santiago, Chile, at the Espacio Riesco, Av. El Salto 5000, Huechuraba, along with Trex, its distributor. The exhibition will count on over 1,600 companies from 35 countries launching and introducing products for a broad range of areas.

To emphasize its presence and its product range, Trex will be presenting three business lines it distributes for Terex:

Cranes: Focusing on the all-Terrain cranes line (AC), Trex will introduce models for 140 and 500 tons - Terex AC-140 and Terex AC-500, respectively, which are versatile equipment, adjusting to a great variety of work types, as required by the region.

Genie's Aerial Work Platforms: With a diversified line of excellency products, including Booms, Telehandlers and Lighting towers, Trex completes its portfolio as it provides customers with full solutions when it comes to lifting cargo and people.

Port Equipment: Finally, the company also brings their port solutions into focus, emphasizing the renowned equipment from the Reach Stacker line, which excels in safety to stack up to 6 full containers and the FDC line, known for its agility in stacking up to 8 empty containers.

This 2014 EXPOMIN - the 13th edition of the event, shall create approximately US$1,700 million in business opportunities. For the Chilean mining segment, this amount proves the importance of this market for the country, especially across the mining industry. Nowadays, Chile produces 5.4 million tons of coper (approximately one third of the worldwide production), being 70% of that volume from the private mining sector, while the remaining 30% come from Codelco.

Challenges of the industry - With a portfolio of projects amounting to above US$ 100,000 million in terms of investments for 2020, such initiatives demonstrate that, if Chile keeps approaching mining as an economic strategy, the country will certainly remain among the top destinies for global investments.

In both versions of the event, the EXPOMIN has debated this and other issues during the Congress held simultaneously, counting on the participation of highly reputed experts of the industry.
